Morning Surprise!
Tuesday mornings are early-honor choir days for Allie. While getting dressed as usual, Allie remembered that the class today was off (the teacher had jury duty.) She was so happy! This was an opportunity to visit her favorite morning spot, Nate 'n Al Delicatessen
We roused Ben from his deep sleep, phoned our car-pool buddy Adrianna to get ready, and headed over to Beverly Drive for some cereal. Allie was thrilled to see her friend Gloria (our favorite waitress there;) it had been months since we'd been in.

One of the nicest things about going in there is the treatment we get as soon as we walk in the door. By the time we walk across the room and sit down, cinnamon toast always mysteriously appears at our table, just the way the kids like it (and there is never a sign of it on the check!) The girls had their cereal and Ben, some eggs. We visited with Gloria, Liz & Gwen (even owner Mark stopped by to say hi,) catching up on recent goings-on. I just love our little city.

After I dropped the kids off at school, I ran in to the Beverlywood Bakery to grab a hamentashen for uncle Leon (and some sugar-free treats for Paul.) I drove over to their house where Donna was having her Tuesday morning coffee with Leon & Lucy. All this before 8:15 in the morning.
Thus began a busy day.
